US WEIGHT CATEGORY KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS LOS ANGELES 2009

   On January 25, The 2009 US Weight Category Karate Championships took place in Los Angeles. 130 competitors from 8 countries took part in the event. Main judge was Shihan Katsuhito Gorai.
   Teams from European countries, such as Bulgaria, Poland and Romania took part in this event with a very successful results.

THE 2008 KYOKUSHIN KARATE CUP OF UKRAINE

   On December 13-14, The 2008 Kyokushin Karate Cup of Ukraine, took place in Donetsk. 178 karateka from 17 regions of Ukraine, Cremia and Russia participated in this tournament. Special guest was Shihan Alexander Ipatov.
   Organiser was Shihan Stanislav Blizniuk , who has been the president of Ukrainian Kyokushin Karate Organisation for the last 20 years.
   UKKO will be the organiser of European Weight Category Championships 2009, that will take place in Kiev on May 23.

THE 9TH POLISH OPEN CATEGORY CHAMPIONSHIPS GLIWICE 2008

   On December 20, The 9th Polish Open Category Kyokushin Karate Championships 2008 took place in Gliwice, Poland. 71 competitors from 29 dojo took part in the event.
   During the opening ceremony Shihan Andre Drewniak handed the black belts to those who passed the test at the last year's International Camp in Mitsumine, Japan.
   Organiser of the championships was Gliwicki Kyokushin Karate Club, led by Sensei Maciej Marszalek. Main judge was Shihan Andre Drewniak.

THE 8TH EUROPEAN OPEN CATEGORY CHAMPIONSHIPS VARNA 2008

   On November 22, The 8th European Open Category Kyokushin Karate Championships 2008The 8th European Kyokushin Karate Kata Championships 2008, The 2nd European Kyokushin Karate Junior Championships 2008 took place in Varna, Bulgaria. 130 competitors from 17 european countries took part in the event.
   Special guests were: Shihan Antonio Pinero (EKKO President), Shihan Andre Drewniak (EKKO General Secretary), Sensei Christoph Fischer (EKKO Treasurer).
   EKKO Board meeting took place on November 20, where the vital matters concerning the future of Kyokushin in Europe were discussed. Judges seminar led by Shihan Andre Drewniak and assisted by Shihan Stanislav Blizniuk and Sensei Jacek Czerniec, was organised on the day before the championships.
   In both final fights met the same fighters as last year. In men open category Alejandro Navarro from Spain once again won with Lucian Gogonel from Romania and in women open category, this time Agnieszka Sypien from Poland was the one who won the champion title, beating Danaila Cherneva from Bulgaria. Both finals were very exciting.
   Organiser of the championships was Bulgarian Kyokushin Karate Organisation, led by Shihan Hristo Traikov. Main judge was Shihan Antonio Pinero.
